LETTER: Family thankful for help after home burned

| November 26, 2015 11:00 AM

Words cannot express how thankful we are, from the bottom of our hearts, for the help you in the community have provided our family in this hard difficult time we are going through.

The moment we were looking at our home, as flames engulfed it, our hearts ached from the pain, and our minds were filled with questions. Why? Why our family? How are we supposed to live now? What are we supposed to do?

But when our eyes adjusted to our children standing next to us, with wide open eyes, staring at the house, and crying… In our hearts we were so thankful that they were safe and with us, and not the other way around.

Only the next day, after the worst night, we were able to go look at the house, and it hit us, that we had lost absolutely everything. Our home, that we created so many memories in, was gone… And all we could do was cry and ask God, why?

And then something amazing happened... God showed us his love and support through his people, through you! That day, people started bringing us food, clothing, necessities, and so much more... In the next few days, help also started coming from different states, especially money wise through churches and the Go Fund Me account that was opened up by our niece.

All this we cannot describe. We are speechless! You, God-sent amazing souls, helped us, and still continue to! May God bless you a hundred times more!

Again, from our fulfilled hearts, we want to thank you! Thank you for the love, support, help and most important, prayers! This was God’s will, and we will continue to learn everyday! We will pray for each and every soul, and for your families, too! Please keep us in your prayers. —Alex and Juliya Shestak, Columbia Falls
