Football roundup: Whitefish throttles Polson; Columbia Falls, Libby come up short

WHITEFISH — Quarterback Luke May passed for 173 yards and rushed for 104 more on just eight attempts as Whitefish rocked Polson 49-0 in Northwestern A football play Friday night at Memorial Field.

May completed 8 of 10 passes. He had three touchdown throws and also ran six yards for a score.

Chris Parks led the WHS ground game with 115 yards on eight carries. He ran for two TDs, 2 and 15 yards, and also caught a touchdown pass, 41 yards.

Jed Nagler had four receptions for 80 yards and two touchdowns, 40 and 39 yards.

Brian FauntLeRoy had three catches for 50 yards.

Tyler Cote scored on a 22-yard run and Haley Nicholson was perfect on all seven PAT kicks.

“Great performance by the offensive line,” Whitefish coach Chad Ross said.

“They are really coming together. We haven’t given up a sack in a couple games. I’m really proud of the guys.”

Whitefish plays at Columbia Falls next Friday.

DILLON — Troy Anderson passed for three touchdowns, ran for two and Carson Fritzgo returned an interception 90 yards for another score as Dillon thumped Columbia Falls in a Class A nonconference matchup.

Dillon led 27-13 at the half.

Dakota Bridwell had three touchdown passes for Columbia Falls, 17 yards to Wyatt Green, 41 yards to Bryce Fagerland and 5 yards to Tyler Murphy.

Murphy totaled five receptions for 56 yards.

Bridwell was 23 of 41 passing for 205 yards while Anderson was 14 of 30 for 210 yards.

Gabby DeLorem had 71 yards on seven rushes for Columbia Falls.

THOMPSON FALLS — Eureka struck first, scoring on a 17-yard touchdown run by Garrett Graves, but it was all Thompson Falls after that as the Blue Hawks rolled to a District 7B victory.

Eureka’s Austin Sherwood scored on an 11-yard run in the second quarter and he connected with Brenton Pluid for a 23-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter.

Trais Hoisington and Jacob Douthit scored two touchdowns each for Thompson Falls.
