Ricki served 31 months at the U.S. Army base in Baumholder, Germany. He joined the Army National Guard of Montana on May 20, 1978, and received his Certificate of Retirement from the United States Army on July 7, 1999, with the rank of master sergeant.

Ricki is survived by his mother, Ronna Vezane; sister, Letitia-Vezane Herman; stepbrother, Dan Herman; brother, Gary, his two sons, Lance Vezane and John Vezane and their wives, Amy and Desi; as well as his nephew, Travis Vezane-Carter and wife, Heather, and niece, Kristina Vezane.
