Robert H. “Bob” Campbell Jr., of Kalispell, died peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, after a two-year struggle with cancer.

Born on Nov. 23, 1941, in Houston and raised in Longview, Texas, Bob was the oldest son of Robert H. Campbell Sr. and Jean M. Campbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Clyde W. Campbell, his son Robert R. Campbell, and his beloved wife Linda B. “Beth” Campbell.

He is survived by his daughter, Darlina S. “Suzy” Bennett, and her children, Bobbye, Christian and Sheridan; his stepdaughter, Sheri L. Peery, her husband Bill, and their son and daughter-in-law, Trey and Katie; his grandson, Ryan Campbell; his niece, Deanna L. Lisle, and her husband Keith, and their children, Clyde and Sara; and his niece, Jennifer L. Romero, her husband Paul, and her children, Tucker, Melvin, Duval and Daisy.

A Texan at heart, but a man who was drawn to the glory of the mountains as well, Bob and his wife moved to the Flathead Valley in 1999. Bob was gifted as a salesman and provided well for his family over the years. He took time to notice people and take a genuine interest in them, whether it was a business associate he spoke to through email, a neighbor, the lovely ladies who assisted him in Kelly Rae’s or the many members of his church family who loved and cared for him so generously over the past few years, Bob loved them and considered them family. His smile and kind heart will be missed by many.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Frontier Hospice for their compassionate care and loving support.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Family Life Christian Church in Kalispell. At a later date Bob’s remains will be taken to Texas and laid to rest with his wife, Beth.

In lieu of flowers please send donations in Bob’s name to Friends of Hospice, c/o Frontier Hospice, 42 Bruyer Way, Kalispell, MT 59901.
