Gilbert L. Gendreau, 89

Gilbert L. Gendreau, 89, passed away on Oct. 26, 2015, in Kalispell.

Gilbert was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Scobey. The family moved to Walhalla, North Dakota, where Gilbert grew up.

In 1949 Gilbert married Lee Ryker in Kalispell. They were together for 51 years before Lee’s passing in 2002.

Gilbert worked as manager for the Kalispell Laundry and Dry Cleaners before he retired.

He loved gardening and keeping the house and yard to perfection. He also liked woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister, and his wife Lee.

Gilbert is survived by son, Larry, and Susan Gendreau; daughter, Paula, and Timothy Brubaker; sister, Edna Burke, of Anderson, California; 11 grandchildren, Sarah and David Metcalfe, Derek and Monique Burton, Christopher Gendreau, Kim and Zach Lindsay, Lacey and Jarod Oftedahl, Nicki Ward and Dan Mullis; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Gilbert will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.
