The new Kalispell BeeHive Homes memory care and assisted living facility will  include fire sprinkler systems, according to Kalispell City Plans Examiner Rick Parker.

In an Aug. 14 interview with the Daily Inter Lake, Parker had said that the plans for the facility had been accepted without a fire sprinkler system, based on occupant load and a 24-hour staff.

Last week, however, Parker said he had misread his notes and the facility did in fact include sprinklers.

Fire sprinklers are a requirement for the BeeHive Homes franchise, owner Josh Burlage said. The BeeHive Homes facility in Columbia Falls, formerly owned by Burlage, also has a full fire sprinkler system.

The 19-bed, $1 million project is currently under construction at 242 Stillwater Road. The building plan was approved by the city on Aug. 5. Construction is expected to be completed in March 2016.
