Vandals caused thousands of dollars in damage at the Ten Commandments Park in Columbia Heights on Sunday night.

It was the third time the billboard park had been vandalized since it opened in August 2014.

Philip Klevmoen, the park’s owner, said vandals entered the U.S. property on Sunday night sometime between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. and slashed a dozen of the 21 biblically themed billboards in the drive-through park.

The vandals also painted the word “porn” in graffiti on a pro-life billboard and broke off four plaques bearing the Ten Commandments. Klevmoen estimated damage at more than $6,000.

Identical handwriting, matching pink and black spray paint and the phrase “praise Allah” were used in three separate incidents during the past year, and Klevmoen said he believes there is a single culprit or a group of culprits behind all the vandalism.

“It’s just becoming more vicious,” Klevmoen said.

Klevmoen is offering a $500 reward to anyone who comes forward with the identity of the vandal or vandals. He plans to get the billboards repaired as soon as possible.

“We will never quit,” Klevmoen said. “We will never stop putting up God’s word and we encourage everyone in the valley to put it in their houses and their businesses.”
