Avery 2nd, Glacier 3rd at golf invitational
BUTTE — Teigan Avery finished second and the Glacier girls were third at the Butte Invitational golf tournament on Friday.
Avery, who held a six-shot lead after Thursday’s play at Fairmont Golf Course with her 76, tied Hayden Flohr of Billings West for first place. Both had 161 totals.
Flohr was named the medalist on a scorecard playoff.
Glacier’s McKenna Hulslander, 192, was 11th.
Bozeman, 747, had the best team score followed by Great Falls, 774, and Glacier, 777.
Flathead was 10th with an 887 mark. The Bravettes did not have an individual finish in the top 20.
In boys play, Billings West, led by medalist Joey Moore, took team honors with a 625 total.
Billings Skyview, 633, was second.
Glacier, 651, placed sixth and Flathead, 738, was 13th.
Moore shot a 142 total to win by five shots.
Glacier’s Tom Mann, 153, was fifth and Jake Circinione, 156, was ninth.
Flathead did not have an individual in the top 20.
