Cut Bank 18, Eureka 0

CUT BANK — Cut Bank blanked Eureka (1-1) in a Class B nonconference contest that was played in the pouring rain.

“They ran the ball pretty well,” Eureka coach Trevor Utter said.

“We missed some opportunities. We got stuffed on the 1-yard line and fumbled twice. We missed some throws where we had some open guys.

“They’re big and tough up front,” Utter continued. “With the rain it was difficult to throw the ball. They are a run team and in the rain it helped (them). We don’t have an offense that pounds it out on the ground. We need a balanced attack. It made it difficult.”

The Lions were without starting fullback Matthew Anderson (knee).

“We hope he’s back this week,” Utter said. “It did improve throughout the week, but it didn’t improve enough to get him out here today.”
