Soccer roundup: Wildkats blank Rangers

COLUMBIA FALLS — Senior forward Ellie Johnson scored two goals and assisted on two more to guide Columbia Falls to a 4-0 Class A nonconference girls soccer victory over the Livingston Rangers on Friday.

The Wildkats (1-0) scored twice in both halves.

“We’re happy for the first game, to get a win,” veteran Columbia Falls coach Greg Trenerry said.

“That’s good.

“It took us a little while to get our composure, but once we settled down and started playing our game, we did good.”

Hannah Callender and Hannah Gedlaman had the other goals for Columbia Falls.

Columbia Falls hosts Belgrade today at 11 a.m.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Colin McKenzie scored three goals to power Livingston to a Class A nonconference victory over the Columbia Falls Wildcats (0-1).

The Rangers had 14 shots on goal to 13 for Columbia Falls. The Wildcats had four corner kicks to three for the visitors.

“We saw some incredible things out there with our guys,” Columbia Falls coach O’Brien Byrd said.

“The effort, the heart and the never-give-up attitude was out there today.”

Columbia Falls is back in action today at 1 p.m. hosting Belgrade.

RATHDRUM, Idaho — Lakeland scored three goals in the first 13 minutes en route to a nonconference victory over Stillwater Christian School.

“They were fresh and we weren’t,” Stillwater coach Ryan O’Rourke said.

“But the guys worked through the game. I felt we finished pretty strong. That was good.”

BJ Bach scored for Stillwater (2-2). He has scored in all four games for the Cougars.
