Discount Tire media officials say a man has been upgraded to stable condition after falling from an overturned scissors lift on Sept. 4 at a construction site in north Kalispell.

Greg Miller, media officer for the company, said that the man was working for a subcontractor at the time of the fall. Discount Tire is being built in the Spring Prairie shopping center near the intersection of U.S. 93 and West Reserve Drive

“The latest update we have is that the gentleman involved is now in stable condition,” Miller said. “We don’t know much more.”

Allison Meilicke, public information officer for Kalispell Regional Medical Center, said that the man had a breathing tube inserted and was immediately taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle via fixed-wing aircraft.

“He was full trauma, badly injured,” Meilicke said.

Harborview Medical Center was unable to provide an update on the man’s injuries.

The Billings branch for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration had not received a report for the incident as of Wednesday evening, though staff said it is likely that a report about the incident will have to be filed per federal law.
