Smell interferes with nap time

A Baker Avenue resident called the Whitefish Police Department to report a strong sewage smell in front of her home. She told police that there is some toilet paper on the road that is “bubbling up” from the sewage drain. Police found no evidence of bubbling sewage on the scene and when they asked the woman about the unfound smell or material, she replied: “Not today, I’m taking a nap.”

A mother bear and her cubs were spotted climbing a tree on Scott Avenue.

A resident called Whitefish Police Department after her children confessed to stealing several items from vehicles in Whitefish and wanted to meet with an officer.

A person called Whitefish police after noticing his neighbor had passed out on the sidewalk and soiled himself.

At 2:22 p.m., a man who looked very intoxicated was reported sitting on the curb next to a Central Avenue bar. The caller wanted police to check with the man before he got into a vehicle and tried to drive.


A 13th Street resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report her neighbors were harassing her husband recently, including an attempt to stop him from mowing the front lawn.

Someone stole an unregistered four-wheeler from an Eighth Avenue residence on Friday.


The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was contacted after callers saw their home was listed on Craigslist as available for rent.
