Fourth-graders to get free entry to Glacier Park

| September 18, 2015 9:00 PM

Glacier National Park is taking part in the Every Kid in a Park program where fourth-graders can now receive free access to federally managed lands during the 2015-16 school year.

To receive their free pass for national parks, fourth graders can visit the Every Kid in a Park website and play a game to access their special pass.

Fourth-graders and their families can then use this pass for free entry to national parks and other federal public lands and waters across the country from Sept. 1, 2015, through Aug. 31, 2016. The website also includes fun and engaging learning activities, trip planning tools, safety and packing tips.

Every Kid in a Park is a crucial component of a multipronged approach to inspire the next generation to discover all that U.S. public lands and waters have to offer, including opportunities to be active, spend time with friends and family, and serve as living classrooms to build critical skills.

Glacier National Park offers countless opportunities for youths and their families, including ranger-led hikes, campground talks, boat tours, a Junior Ranger Program, ranger-led education classroom field trips, and much more.

“There’s a lot to discover here, and we’re excited to welcome fourth-graders and their families to Glacier throughout the year,” Glacier National Park Superintendent Jeff Mow said in a news release. “We hope that our young visitors have fun in the great outdoors and develop a lifelong connection to our nation’s land, water and wildlife.”
