Robert Stanley Lynch Jr., 65

Robert Stanley Lynch Jr., 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Bigfork on Sept.13, 2015.

Robbie was born March 29, 1950, in Teaneck, New Jersey, to Robert and Anna (Ambrogi) Lynch. Robbie grew up in River Vaile, New Jersey, with his five siblings. At the age of 16 he went to work for Benzel Busch (Mercedes Benz) as a car polisher.

After high school, Benzel Busch sent him to an apprenticeship to become an auto mechanic. He worked for Benzel Busch for 12 years before deciding to open Robbie’s Mercedes Benz Specialist Shop at age 28.

At age 30 he married Barbara Dunley, and two years later they had their only child, Allison Lynch.

After 13 years of running Robbie’s Mercedes Benz Specialist Shop, Robbie and his wife decided to embark on a new adventure and moved to Montana. Robbie started a mobile auto repair business. It didn’t take long before he needed to build a shop next to his house, and for 23 years he ran his shop until his sudden passing.

Robert was known for his charismatic spirit, his personality, his zealous work ethic, his outspokenness and his storytelling. Several newspapers articles were  written for Robbie’s honesty and integrity in his mechanical work. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Robbie was preceded in death by wife Barbara, brother John, and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Allison Lynch; sisters, Barbara Lynch, Virginia  Featherstone and Nancy Lynch; brother, William Lynch; and his loving companion, Shari DeMotts.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Bigfork Chapel Assembly of God Church in Bigfork. A potluck reception will follow the service and everyone is invited to bring their favorite dish.
