LETTER: Support solution for Bigfork school

| September 25, 2015 11:00 AM

To the voters in Bigfork High School District 38:

Please take the time to become an informed voter in the request by the Bigfork school board to pass a bond Issue to upgrade, expand and bring into compliance with the safety and social requirements of our very dated high school buildings.

After touring the facility with Mr. Jensen and several other members of our community, it is very apparent that the environment in which our educators in Bigfork who are trying to teach and develop young minds, is not as good as it should be. The long neglect and kicking the can down the road has come to the point that we now need to fix the antiquated situation and bring the buildings up to a standard that this community can be proud of.

One of the greatest freedoms that we have in this country is to provide a quality education to our children. That is something Bigfork has always been proud to support. I look around our community and see the new generation of leaders, teachers, doctors, businessmen, artists, builders and all those who provide for our daily lives. It amazes me how many are graduates of Bigfork High School. They are all now raising their families and educating their children here and paying taxes to support our schools, the same schools that educated them. Thank you, Bigfork Schools.

I want to thank those members of our community who worked many hours and provided such important input in helping with the discovery and solution for the needs of the school. They worked with the board, administration and teachers to come up with a very workable and common-sense plan that will provide a positive and healthy educational environment for our future students for many years to come.

I urge you to vote yes. —Nina Anderson, Bigfork
