Columbia Falls woman dies driving wrong way on interstate
The Montana Highway Patrol was investigating Tuesday afternoon why a 57-year-old Columbia Falls woman was driving the wrong way and caused a double fatal crash the previous day.
The Patrol said the woman, who died in the crash, was traveling east in a westbound lane on Interstate 90 just before 4 p.m. Monday. She collided with a westbound sport utility vehicle.
A 26-year-old passenger in the vehicle died. He was from Van Nuys, California. The driver of the sport utility vehicle, a 25-year-old woman from Woodland Hills, California, was admitted to an intensive care unit at a Butte hospital.
The Deer Lodge County Coroner could not be reached. The identities were being withheld until next of kin could be notified.
