LETTER: The Donald shows lack of serious thinking
Amazing! The self-declared darling of the “practically not educated at all” may have finally stuck his foot so far down his throat (or elsewhere) that even his blind followers, especially the women, may wise up and abandon him ... maybe.
Saying about Sen. McCain, a war hero who was tortured for five years after being shot down on a bombing mission over Hanoi, “I like people who weren’t captured,” didn’t do it.
After Megyn Kelly, the second highest rated Fox News pundit, in the first debate asked him to explain derogatory statements he had made about women, Trump said, “There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.” I think we all knew what he meant by “wherever,” but nothing happened.
About Carly Fiorina, former CEO of HP and a breast cancer survivor, Trump said, “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?” Nothing happened. And I could go on.
Now, in an interview with pushy Chris Matthews, when asked whom he would punish should Roe v. Wade be overthrown and abortion become illegal, he plainly stated that the woman having the abortion should be punished. Well! That fired up the pro-abortion AND the pro-life troops. In fact before Roe v. Wade when abortion was illegal, it was never the woman who faced punishment ... only the person performing the abortion.
Once again, the Donald showed his lack of serious thinking and grasp of important issues. Perhaps even more important, it showed his lack of ability to think on his feet — not a good trait for a president of the most powerful nation in the world. But perhaps his hair weave was wrapped too tightly and impeded the blood supply to his brain ... yeah, that must have been it.
