County starts lifting spring road limits
Flathead County will begin lifting its spring load limits for trucks on most valley-floor roads starting Wednesday.
The commissioners approved a revised resolution on Monday that lists county roads that still will be under weight restrictions.
“If it’s in a mountainous area, it probably still will have a weight limit on it,” county Public Works Director Dave Prunty said.
Among the roads still posted for 350 pounds per inch of tire width and 35 mph speed limits are Ashley Lake Road West, Belton Stage, Blankenship, Browns Meadow, East Edgewood, Good Creek, Haskill Basin, Hoffman Draw, Hubbart Dam, Island Lake, Lost Prairie, Lupfer, McMannamy Draw, North Ashley Lake, Olney Loop, Patrick Creek, Pleasant Valley starting at Lodgepole Drive, Rabe, Rhodes Draw, Rogers Lake, Rogers Lane West, Sherman, Sickler Creek, Star Meadows, Thompson River, Truman Creek and West Valley Drive.
Prairie View Road in the West Valley area and West Valley Drive north of Lost Creek Drive also will continue to be posted because of remaining soft spots, Prunty said.
Prunty said the remaining weight restrictions likely will be lifted within the next two weeks.
