LAW ROUNDUP: Thief slowly empties bank account
Whitefish Police received a report from a person who was away on vacation and noticed that his or her bank account had been emptied over the previous two days as someone withdrew money from ATMs in $100 increments.
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Spruce Road that a teenage girl had allegedly been pushed down by her boyfriend. He allegedly broke her cellphone before she pepper-sprayed him to get away. The suspect could not be found.
A person hunting for antlers near Ashley Lake found a rifle case tucked behind some bushes and brought it in for deputies to examine.
A man called from Whitefish to report that he had turned in a gun he had bought that he later found to be stolen. The person he had bought the gun from then allegedly threatened to kill him.
A person called from Middle Road in Columbia Falls to report that a boat motor had been stolen in the past week.
A woman reported that her child’s father had slashed her tires as she parked at a fast-food restaurant. The pair allegedly had been fighting about child support.
A Whitefish woman asked what she should do after her daughter and her daughter’s friend allegedly left white baggies of powder, spoons and pills behind after a visit.
Columbia Falls Police took a report from Ninth Street West, where a shoplifter made off with orange juice, snacks and other miscellaneous items. The suspect was believed to have been a repeat offender who was flagged by police as having violent tendencies.
A baggie of white powder was found in a parking lot off First Street East. It was turned into authorities for disposal.
Kalispell Police were unable to immediately punish a 24-year-old woman for stealing someone’s cellphone because the jail was full.
No one was injured after a bicycle and person collided near the intersection of South Main Street and First Street West.
A woman reported that a man was smoking in a sober-living home and asked for his removal. The man fled when officers arrived. The man was eventually caught and booked on a warrant out of Cascade County.
Used syringes were reported at a bus shelter on Third Avenue East North.
A man was told to leave a hotel by an officer after he threatened two employees.
A woman was referred to Fish and Game officers after she stated that she bought a boat without a title and then found where the VIN number had been scratched off.
