Two cats perish in house fire
No people were injured but two cats died at a house fire on Wyoming Street in Kalispell on Wednesday night.
Kalispell Fire Chief Dave Dedman said in a press release that it is believed that an unattended candle started the fire, though the incident is still under investigation.
“No one was home at the time of the fire,” Dedman said. “It was discovered by the neighbor and then called in.”
The fire was reported at 9:14 p.m. at 535 W. Wyoming St. Dedman estimated damage at $100,000, largely due to smoke.
Smith Valley Fire Department, Evergreen Fire Rescue, Kalispell Police Department and Flathead Electric responded to the incident.
