Byron Henry Goe Jr., 74

Byron Henry Goe Jr., Army veteran and former resident of Columbia Falls, died on March 16, 2016. He was 74 years old.

Byron had several careers throughout his life, including working at a machine shop, working in the roundhouse for Burlington Northern, designing and building log houses, general contracting, and a lot of tinkering throughout his life.

Aside from his multiple careers, Byron also enjoyed many hobbies, such as hunting, fishing, kayaking, camping, and going for a scenic drive, just to name a few. He was always busy with something but always had time for a friend or stranger.

Byron went into the Army shortly after high school, and sometime around there, he married his first wife, Diane.

He went on to marry Patty and adopt her four children, Kevin, Todd, Jeff, and Darla.

He then met Dixie and her two children, Brent and Brenda. Together, Byron and Dixie had one child, Ben.

He then married Kathy and helped to raise her child, Meagan.

Byron recently reconnected with his sister Jenny, and they shared many conversations, stories, laughs, and cries over the past four years.

Byron was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy, and daughter, Darla.

He is survived by Meagan, Ben, Brenda, Brent, Todd, Jeff, and Kevin.

Memorial services for Byron will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, at Columbia Mortuary.
