Searchers on Tuesday continued to look for a Kalispell man missing in Idaho during a camping trip.

According to a news release from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Burke Despain, 64, was traced by canine trackers to the banks of the South Fork of the Clearwater River. Authorities believe Despain might have fallen into the river and been swept away.

When he could not find his father Saturday morning, Despain’s son Jason reported him missing from a campsite near Highway 14 east of Grangeville, Idaho.

Despain has been an outside salesman for Dakota Supply Group in Kalispell for many years, according to administrative assistant Cindy Burrell.

“He’s a good man who loves his family,” Burrell said.

Burrell said co-workers were praying for Despain’s wife and children, who have been very upset by his disappearance.

“He has a beautiful family,” she said.
