Edward Vern Clark, 82
Edward Vern Clark passed away April 9, 2016, quietly at his Kalispell home, at the age of 82.
He was the son of Ike and Opal Clark, born Nov. 16, 1933. The family lived on a farm outside of Cut Bank.
Ed was definitely a farm boy; he loved telling stories about working on the farm, the early rising, sleeping in the bunk house, driving tractor all day, and producing all they could during the war and the rationing.
He attended and graduated from Cut Bank Schools, then served in Korea. After the war he came home and was married, and over the years he fathered four children.
He attended barber training in Spokane, after which he and his family came to Kalispell, where he worked at several locations, with the last being Joe’s Barber Shop on Main Street in Kalispell. Ed retired in 1995.
His favorite things in life were telling jokes, going to garage sales, gardening and, above all else, picking huckleberries and meeting his friends at Rosie’s for coffee at 3 p.m.
Ed is survived by four children, Evan residing in Washington, D.C., Rhonda of California, Gregg of Plains, and Scott of Portland; as well as four grandchildren and his current wife, Molly Clark.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory.
