SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Ronan drops Loggers, Whitefish routed

RONAN — The Libby softball team hung tight with Ronan through three innings of Western B/C play on Tuesday, but fell apart late, losing 11-1 in six innings.

Ronan took a 3-0 lead in the first inning but Libby cut into the deficit with a run in the third.

The Maidens took control with two runs in the fourth inning and ended the game early in the sixth, pulling off a long rally to post six runs and take a 10-run win.

Libby catcher Sammi Bradeen and teammate Ashley Walker were each 2 for 3 from the plate and pitcher Khalyn Hageness was 1 for 2 with the team’s sole RBI.

FRENCHTOWN — Frenchtown made quick work of their Northwestern A game against Whitefish, scoring 11 runs in the first inning before ending the game on a run rule in the third.

Broncs pitcher Laci Willett no hit the Bulldogs as her team built an insurmountable lead early in the game. Frenchtown would score one more run in the second and three in the third to end the game early on a 15-run rule.
