Emma 'Jane' Wheeler Fulton, 100
Emma “Jane” Wheeler Fulton, 100, was born November 21, 1915, to George and Anna Poole on Fourth Avenue East North in Kalispell. She passed away peacefully at home on April 17, two city blocks from where she was born.
Jane was a lifelong East North Kalispell resident, except for the winters spent in Arizona after she retired. Jane was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and one of its longest members, a distinction of which she was proud.
After graduating from Flathead High School, she attended and graduated from Kinman Business College in Spokane, Washington. After graduation at Kinman, she returned to Kalispell and was employed by Braumberger Jewelry, where she met her future husband, Frank Wheeler. After they were married Frank and Jane established Wheeler Jewelry shortly after World War II, which remains a fixture on Kalispell’s Main Street.
Jane was an avid golfer, traveler, bridge player, hostess and amateur historian of Kalispell’s early places and families. After Frank passed away in 1989, Jane married Gene Fulton in 1995. Gene and Jane enjoyed traveling, socializing, and playing cards. Gene passed away in 2009.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Frank, and second husband, Gene; her brother, Alfred Poole and wife Frances, and her sister, Myrlann Thiesen and husband Don.
She is survived by her godson, Brad Eslick and Julie; caregiver and best friend, Noni Thiesen and Randy; nephew Jeff Thiesen and Kim, nephew Murphy McMahon and Toni, nephew Doug Tillett and Sharon, and niece Sue Crerar and Gary; numerous grandnieces and nephews, as well as the ladies of her bridge group. A special thanks to hospice nurse Randi and volunteer Carmen.
At Jane’s request no services will be held at this time.
