LAW ROUNDUP: Box of explosives turned in safely

Someone called Flathead County Sheriff’s Office from Spotted Bear Road in Martin City after a container of explosive tannerite was found in a field. A deputy collected the item for safe disposal.

Child and Family Services called for a deputy after a woman took her 3-year-old daughter to the doctor because of urinary tract concerns. As a result of the visit, it was discovered that another child might have sexually assaulted the girl.

A person called from Martin City for advice after applying for a no-contact order against a woman. The woman had allegedly told the person to expect to get shot in the head “like a dog.” She also made some other vulgar remarks, the caller said.

A woman on South Cedar Drive reported that people were on her property without permission and appeared to be doing “sexual stuff” and possibly filming it. The woman thought her ex-partner might be the culprit as some sort of revenge. A deputy was unable to locate the suspects.

Someone reported that a Kalispell-area storage business’s cameras kept getting spray-painted. The owner was also having burglary issues.


A Columbia Falls Police officer responded to Ninth Street West, where a person complained that a neighbor was shouting threats through a wall. The officer determined that the man was having mental-health issues and thought the callers had been shouting things at him about the government coming to get his checks.


An all-terrain vehicle was reported as stolen to Kalispell Police from a parking lot on West Center Street.

Officers called a mom to come pick up her son after he was found on U.S. 93, barefoot, with a bloody nose. The 13-year-old claimed his mother kicked him out of the house.

Someone on Second Avenue East North reported that shots had been fired from a vehicle toward his or her house with a pellet gun.
