Charles Leroy Garvin, 81

Charles Leroy Garvin, 81, of Spokane, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2016.

Born on Aug. 7, 1934, in Flathead County, he was the son of Gwynn and Dorothy (Burns) Garvin (deceased).

Chuck grew up in the Flathead Valley. His main love was fishing. He dedicated his life to the Laborers International Union. He was an amazing negotiator. He loved auctions and collecting.

He is survived by his brother, James Russell Garvin, of Kalispell; his sons, Chuck Garvin Jr. of Spokane, and James Dale Garvin of North Pole, Alaska; his daughter, Gwen Garvin; and various stepchildren. Survivors also include grandson Chaz Garvin, and granddaughters Stevie Garvin and Kelsi Garvin, of Spokane; grandson Matthew Garvin and granddaughter Jessica Garvin of Northpole; and various stepgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on April 30 at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, Spokane, WA 99207, followed by a reception at Local Laborer Union 238 located at 1330 N. Calispel St. in Spokane.
