Swan River School gets soccer grant
Swan River School is the recipient of a $10,000 grant from the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Safe Places to Play program. The school was one of nine organizations nationwide that received grants.
The grant will be used to install an irrigation system for the school’s playing field.
The mowed hay field is used primarily for physical education classes and casual soccer play during recess. A proper irrigation system will create a field suitable and safe to play soccer for the school and community.
“Swan River School is very thankful for the soccer field grant from the U.S. Soccer Foundation,” said Brooke Johnston, a parent and school board trustee. “Not only will our school but our community will be able to enjoy this generous gift of new fields.”
