C.F. students sweep state poster contest
Columbia Falls High School students swept the computer-generated division of a state wildfire prevention art contest for kindergarten through 12th grade.
The contest theme was, “One Less Spark One Less Wildfire.”
First place went to 12th-grader Loutisha Carr, second place to 12th-grader Tanner Dana and third place to 11th-grader Trevor Wick. All were students of graphic design teacher Kate Daniels.
West Glacier Elementary third-grader Julia Byrd received an honorable mention in the primary division for grades kindergarten through third.
There were 3,000 students who competed in the Keep Montana Green Association’s art contest.
The student-created artwork is used to increase public awareness about the dangers of human-caused wildfires and is used in media campaigns, publications and other educational products.
State winners received ribbons and cash prizes.
