MISSOULA — Glacier’s Annie Hill set a pair of meet records as the top runners in the western half of the state gathered for the Russ Pilcher Top 10 meet on Tuesday.

Hill set meet records in the 800- and 1,600-meters, winning both races. Hill’s time of 2:11.26 in the 800 was her best of the year, more than eight seconds faster than the rest of the field and was also the fastest time in the state this spring. Hill ran a 4:46.69 in the 1,600 but was pushed by Bigfork’s Bryn Morley, who shaved nearly 10 seconds off her season-best to finish in 4:54.24.

Bigfork runners had a big day overall with Haile Norred finishing third in the 400 (1:00.88), Anya Young fourth in the 3,000 (12:06.59), Mattison McAnally third in the 300 hurdles (47.15) and the Valkyries relay teams both finishing in the top six.

On the boys side, Columbia Falls’ 1,600 qualified for the state meet with a time of 3:31.90 and Whitefish’s Luke May won the javelin comfortably with throw of 194-11.

Wildcats sprinter Tanner Dana was edged for first in the 100 (11.45) and finished third in the 200 (23.19). Bigfork’s Logan Morley was second in the 3,200 (9:34.05).
