• Bigfork community members, businesses, current or future high school students, alumni, family members, teachers and faculty are invited to purchase an engraved brick from the Bigfork High School senior class. The customized bricks will be incorporated into the high school renovation. Today is the deadline to purchase bricks. Bricks are $50 each and will include two lines with 22 characters per line counting spaces and punctuation. Proceeds will fund the senior class party. • An academy day is set from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Montana Armed Forces Reserve Center, 9283 Running West Road, Missoula. Open to Montana middle and high school students interested in attending a military academy or pursuing a career in the military.

• The public is invited to attend a book fair preview at Trinity Lutheran School at 6 p.m. Sunday in the school foyer. Books will be available for purchase, families can learn summer reading tips and children are invited to hear a book read aloud.

• Anime and manga otaku fans in grades 6-12 are invited to watch a screening of “Fullmetal Alchemist” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday at ImagineIF Kalispell.

• Missoula Children’s Theater will visit West Valley Monday through May 7. Students may audition after school Monday. There will be two performances of “Peter and Wendy” at 3 and 5:30 p.m. May 7.

• A mandatory meeting is planned for parents of Bigfork Middle School eighth graders from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Administrators will provide the itinerary for the eight-grade trip along with contact information and consent forms. The trip is planned June 2-3.

• Smith Valley School will hold a kindergarten roundup planned from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday. Children must be 5 on or before Sept. 10. Call 756-4535 and press option No. 4 to make an appointment. Children will be screened during the appointment. Parents must bring their child’s birth certificates and immunization records.

• The Harlem Ambassadors vs. the Rotary All-Stars will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at Glacier High School. The Harlem-style comedy basketball show will feature high-flying slam dunks and games with kids. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 7-18. Children 6 and under are free. Proceeds benefit Bigfork and Evergreen Rotary clubs. Tickets are available at the UPS Store in Bigfork and Snappy Sport Senter in Evergreen.

• Kindergarten roundup is planned from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Swan River School. Make an appointment by calling 837-4528. Bring child’s birth certificate and immunization record to appointment.

• A 4-H camp clean-up day and potluck is planned at 10 a.m. May 7 at Darrell Fenner Loon Lake 4-H Camp. Burgers and beverages will be provided for lunch. Plan to bring a potluck item along with any tools such as chainsaws, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers, shop vac, gloves, hammers and screwdrivers. Sign up to volunteer by calling 758-5553.

• Musician Sean Gaskell will give a family-friendly performance on an ancient 21-stringed West African harp called the Kora at 3 p.m. May 7 at ImagineIF Kalispell, 247 First Ave. E. For more information about Gaskell visit www.seangaskell.com.

• Families are invited to visit the Family Forestry Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 7 at the Trumbull Creek Educational Forest located about two miles north of the junction of U.S. 2 and Montana 40, west of Columbia Falls. There will be a short forest walk with educational stations and hands-on activities along the way.
