Softball: Offensive woes sink Libby in losses to Ronan, Frenchtown

FRENCHTOWN — Ronan jumped out to a quick 7-1 lead after three innings to down Libby 13-3 on Friday at the Frenchtown Invitational softball tournament.

Libby could muster just four hits with Madisen Monigold, Taryn Luscher and Lindsey Walker all hitting doubles.

Monigold, Walker and Khalyn Hageness each had one RBI.

Jordyn Clairmont, 3 for 4, drove in four runs for Ronan. She doubled twice and tripled.

Libby’s offensive woes continued against Frenchtown, posting just two hits — doubles by Kyra Lauer and Sammee Bradeen — in a 4-0 loss.

Earlier in the day, Ronan lost to Stevensville 5-1.

Peyton Kehr went 4 for 5 and drove in four runs and Sydney Hovde, 2 for 5, also had four RBIs to power Columbia Falls to a victory over Florence.

Kehr and Hovde both homered in the contest. Kehr also had a double.

Columbia Falls, with 18 hits, scored five runs in the second inning and seven in the seventh.

Hamilton tallied 10 runs in the third inning to spill Columbia Falls.

Kehr, Morgan Campbell and Lottie Ellis had two hits each for the Wildkats in that one.
