LAW ROUNDUP: Resident claims knocker unhinged
Columbia Falls Police performed extra patrol on Third Avenue West after someone reported that an unidentified person had come up onto his or her porch and hit the door multiple times. The force nearly took the door off its hinges, the caller claimed. The person had taken off by the time an officer arrived.
Olney Fire Department and ALERT Helicopter responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash near Olney on U.S. 93 Saturday night at around 6:15 p.m. It was unknown how many people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Whitefish Police were unable to locate a man who was reported as screaming in an alley off Central Avenue. The man had a dog and was overheard screaming “Can you take it, Whitefish?”
Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and Adult Protective Services worked with an elderly man in Troy who complained that he had been swindled out of his entire life’s savings by scam artists.
Someone called Troy Dispatch and reported that a woman appeared to be driving erratically while smoking from a glass pipe. Officers did not locate the driver.
A Montana Highway Patrol Trooper spotted a vehicle that appeared to have been in an accident off Montana 37. The vehicle was damaged and had deer hair stuck to it which suggested that a possible collision with an animal might have occurred. The trooper located the driver at home. He had been injured and was resting until he could obtain proper medical care.
Someone in Troy complained that a man had shot a dog and thrown it over Freeman Ridge.
A man calling from Freeman Ridge reported that there was a shop fire earlier in the day, and that he had but it out by himself. He suspected it might have been deliberately set.
