OUTDOORS ROUNDUP: Swan Valley Connections holds Shintangle

• Swan Valley Connections is pleased to announce its Swan Valley Shintangle fundraiser at 33 Bar Ranch on Barber Creek Road in Condon at 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20.

The event will feature music by the Moonshine Mountain Band and will raise funds for conservation programs in the Swan Valley. There will be a raffle, door prizes and lots of dancing.

Dinner tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at Swan Valley Connections in Condon or online at SwanValleyConnections.org/Events through Aug. 16.

Music-only tickets will be available for purchase at the gate and are $20 for adults and free to children 12 and under.

The Swan Valley Shintangle will be held rain or shine.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and flashlights.

• The Ronan-Pablo Fall Hunter Education course will begin Wednesday, Aug. 24th, in Room 118 of the Beaverhead Math and Science building on the Salish Kootenai College campus in Pablo.

Interested students are required to register online now at fwp.mt.gov.

A parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 to the first night and students must bring signed forms from the website.

Students can pick up manuals at the following locations prior to class: Ronan Sports and Western; Westland Seed; and Murdochs and Walmart in Polson. The entire manual must be read and chapter quizzes completed before the first class.

Only individuals 11 years of age or older at the day of sign-up may be certified upon successfully completing the course.

Volunteer instructors will begin instruction for the Hunters Education course on Wednesday, Aug. 24th. Classes will continue on Aug. 25 and 26, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

A mandatory field course is scheduled for Aug. 28th. The test review and test will be on Aug. 29.

All hunter education classes are free of charge and open to hunters and non-hunters alike.
