Log hauling on the west-side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road No. 895 has started from the Heinrude area (milepost 36) to U.S. 2 in Hungry Horse.

The hauling involves two log trucks making two trips per day and should take a week to complete, according to a news release from Flathead National Forest.

Log hauling on the east-side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road No. 38 also has started from the Firefighter Timber Sale (milepost 15) to U.S. 2 at Martin City.

Several log trucks per day are planned and should continue until the snow flies.

Additional log hauling is planned from the Tin Mule Timber Sale (milepost 45) on the east-side road from the last week in August until the snow flies.

Logging trucks on the east-side road use citizens band radio channel 15; trucks on the west side use channel 22.

Motorists are urged to keep their speeds slow and prudent, anticipate a log truck at any corner and stay in their lane, especially on the outside of sharp curves.
