Fair's market stock sale totals $377,231

The 2016 Northwest Montana Fair & Rodeo market stock sale grossed $377,230.50 Saturday as local 4-H and FFA members bid farewell to their steers, hogs and lambs.
This year’s stock sale grossed about $11,000 more than last year’s sale.
Beef sold for an average of $3.47 per pound, down 83 cents per pound from last year. Hogs sold for an average of $4.14 per pound, down 59 cents per pound. Lambs sold for an average of $5.31, down $1.05 per pound.
This year’s champion animals are:
- Champion Market Beef raised by Kaitlyn May of Columbia Falls was purchased by Diamond Plumbing & Heating for $7728. The animal weighed 1472 pounds and sold for $5.25 per pound.
- Reserve Champion Market Beef raised by Garrett Tutvedt of Kalispell was purchased by Super 1 Foods for $6664.50. The animal weighed 1481 pounds and sold for $4.50 per pound.
- Champion Market Hog raised by Evan Heupel of Kalispell was purchased by Jimmy Johns of Glacier for $1896.75. The hog weighed 281 pounds and sold for $6.75 per pound.
- Reserve Champion Market Hog raised by Dillon Jewett of Kalispell was purchased by Les Schwab Tire Center Street for $1869.75. The hog weighed 277 pounds and sold for $6.75 per pound.
- Champion Market Lamb raised by Bailey Lake of Kalispell was purchased by Norm’s News/Western Outdoor for $2432. The lamb weighed 152 pounds and sold for $16 per pound.
- Reserve Champion Market Lamb raised by Paige Morrison of Kalispell was purchased by F.H. Stoltze Land & Lumber for $1573. The lamb weighed 143 pounds and sold for $16 per pound.
