Fire crews reported another night of relative calm at the 80-acre Bierney Creek Fire burning about two miles west of Lakeside.

According to a Wednesday morning update from the team assigned to the wildfire, approximately 75 structures are within a half mile of the fire line, but none have been lost in the smoldering blaze.

Fire lines have been constructed around about 70 percent of the fire.

The Bierney Creek Fire began Monday afternoon.

A hotshot crew and a Type 2 fire crew are working on the fire, along with two helicopters, nine fire engines and two bulldozers.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office has set up a checkpoint on Bierney Creek Road, and only residents and fire officials are being allowed through.
