Elderly woman escapes after damaging cars

Whitefish Police were unable to locate an elderly woman who allegedly backed into two cars on Central Avenue after a bystander reported seeing the accident. 

Officers spoke with a man on Flathead Avenue who wanted to know if it was illegal to have traffic spacers in Montana.

Someone reported seeing someone smoking inside their car near a Whitefish church and was concerned drugs might be involved. Officers found a man smoking a cigarette before heading in for work.

Police responded to a report of two men and a woman screaming after a neighbor was concerned about violence taking place on next door. Officers spoke with the loud party, who didn’t want to report any crime.

Columbia Falls Police passed information along to the appropriate authorities after someone reported that two people had allegedly been seen carrying a handgun into a building outside of town, and a scream was heard after a shot was fired.

A man was taken to the hospital emergency room after it was reported that he had fallen out of a bunk and cut his head. The man was also reported to be half-naked, drunk, belligerent and trying to start fights, before someone else took him to the ground until authorities could respond.

Kalispell Police responded to a fight at a school, but the matter was turned over to the principal.

Someone told police that students at a local high school were planning fights each day this week, while 50 other students would show up to record the fights on video. Officers did not find any fights or crowds of students at the location indicated by the caller. Five minutes later, dispatch received a report of high school students trying to beat up a person.

Police spoke with a woman walking around a neighborhood allegedly putting yard items in a basket she was carrying.

A U.S. 93 North business manager reported a felony theft.

A man was reportedly trying to break into vacant apartments.

Someone left a flashlight on the vehicle they had broken into in a west side neighborhood. The owner said a few items were stolen from the vehicle, but no damage was done.

A woman came to the police department to report coins and diamonds stolen from her home.

Police were unable to locate a woman who stole a bottle of wine and ran toward a park.

A resident reported a cat had bitten his child again.

A bow and arrows were reported missing after someone broke into a vehicle in Kalispell.
