BASKETBALL: Flathead girls romp Polson

The Flathead girls dominated Polson in a 52-17 nonconference win to move to 3-1 this season.

The Bravettes led 19-2 after the first quarter and took a 29-10 lead into halftime, continuing to pull away after the break.

Tiana Johnson scored 12 points to lead Flathead and Kelsey Gillespie had 10 points.

Kaelyn Smith had 12 points for the Pirates (0-4) and Mollie Fisher had the other five.

Flathead 65, Polson 57, OT

POLSON — Braves junior forward Sam Elliott hit a pair of 3-pointers in overtime to lead Flathead (3-1) past Class A Polson (1-3) in a nonconference road game.

Elliott, who finished with a game-high 20 points, hit a game-tying shot with 20 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to extra time. He led the charge in overtime, Flathead outscoring the Pirates 15-7 in the extra session.

Tyler Johnson added 18 points for the Braves.

Tanner Wilson and Jeremiah North Piegan each had 16 points to lead Polson.
