Woman 'bugs' police for protection

A woman asked Whitefish Police for extra patrol after she had to vacate her house on Baker Avenue for treatment of a mite infestation.

A business located off U.S. 93 called for officers after a woman allegedly tried to purchase $900 worth of merchandise with a check. The woman tried to take some of the merchandise with her to her car so she could retrieve her identification but the worker would not let her take the goods. The woman never returned, and she left a wallet with pieces of mail that the worker suspected of being stolen.

A man was given a ride home by a taxi service after he fell asleep at a bar after a bartender refused to serve him and insisted that he find a safe way home.


A woman on Second Avenue East reported to Columbia Falls Police that she thought someone had been in her yard without her permission after she found suspicious footprints.


A business on U.S. 93 asked Kalispell Police to respond after a suspicious man left without paying for a vacuum.

A man tried to cash a check at a bank branch and hit a snag when the teller observed that the check appeared to have been washed at some point.

An officer was dispatched after a woman reported that her daughter came home from first grade with a fat lip after allegedly being punched by another student. The mother was worried because the bullying appeared to have been escalating with little effective assistance from school staff.

An officer offered a drunken woman a ride after someone called to report that a man had hit a lady. The officer found that the man had smacked the woman, but that she did not want any help and refused a ride. The woman had a no-contact order against the man and allegedly told the officer that she knew she should not be around him.

A man was told by an officer to leave a hotel and not come back after he was found swimming around in the hot tub. He was not a registered guest.
