Shirley E. Lochridge, 88

| February 12, 2016 6:00 AM

Shirley Lochridge passed away peacefully on Feb. 9, 2016.

Shirley was born to parents Carl and Madge Eskelson in McIntosh, South Dakota, on June 18, 1927. She grew up with three older brothers and one sister and spent her childhood in South Dakota.

Shirley married Frank Lochridge on her birthday in 1948, and the couple had six children. Frank and Shirley were such a pair that they became synonymous with anything that goes together. (Think cookies and ice cream, chips and dip, or peas and carrots)

After years of raising children, Shirley and Frank migrated to Montana in 1975, where their new life experiences would take them to Glacier Park and Flathead Lake.

Shirley became an elementary school teacher and her classrooms were located in West Glacier and Hungry Horse. After retiring, she devoted her time to helping start up the local library in Lakeside. Reading was always her passion.

Shirley is survived by her husband Frank, four sons Charles, John, Andrew and James, and her daughter Mary. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her son Frank Jr.

We will miss her so much and a celebration of her life will take place this summer.

The family is grateful for the condolences we have received and donations can be made in her name to the Lakeside library c/o West Shore Community Library, 100 Birney Creek Road, Lakeside, Montana 59922.

A celebration of her life will take place this summer.
