Father defends himself with bear spray
Columbia Falls Police responded to Second Avenue West after a father allegedly sprayed his 25-year-old son at point blank range with bear spray. The son had allegedly been choking the father. The caller to 911 said the son might have consumed drugs or alcohol, and that he had a drug problem.
A man called to report to Whitefish Police that his son had witnessed a man assault another man on Labrie Drive a week earlier. The man called after he saw a man matching the description of the alleged assailant nearby. There was nothing officers could do about the matter since they had no information from the original incident.
Officers counseled some underage individuals about marijuana after a business owner reported that the youths had been talking about the illegal drug, but that he had not seen them in possession of it.
Kalispell Police advised a woman that a panhandler was not doing anything illegal by allegedly taking her donations to him back to the store and exchanging the items for gift cards and alcohol. The woman did not see the panhandler commit the offense, but said that someone had told her not to give things to the man by someone else. The call was logged for information.
An officer was called to a pharmacy to investigate a prescription that had allegedly been forged. The caller said a similar incident had occurred a few days earlier in Columbia Falls.
A woman called from the intersection of Fifth Avenue West and 11th Street West to report that she had honked her horn and someone had rudely responded by making an inappropriate gesture with a middle finger.
A man got to talk to a city officer after he showed up to the Flathead County Justice Center being verbally abusive to staff, saying that he had been Tased.
An officer was sent to Two Mile Drive after a woman reported that a man had threatened to shoot her in the face and brandished a weapon, but had not yet hurt her.
