LETTER: Man can't control many aspects of world
God created the earth, sun, moon and stars. He also set the earth in orbit around the sun in such manner that gives us the four seasons. The earth also was designed in such a manner that we have rain, snow, storms, tides, El Nino, hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes and volcano eruptions. None of these activities can be stopped by man.
Man tries to forecast the weather but it is never 100 percent accurate. We cannot forecast with an accuracy when or where a tornado will strike a month or even a week before it hits. We cannot predict when hurricanes will hit or exactly where. Can we change El Nino? Man cannot predict exactly when or where an earthquake will shake the earth, nor can man stop it. Man cannot predict when a volcano will erupt or stop it. We have learned to chart tide changes, but we can’t change them. We have erosion of the shores by the ocean waves but we can’t stop it.
Yet we have scientists (?) that try to tell us that we have control of the earth’s temperature. And if we don’t spend billions of dollars to reduce it, the average global temperature will rise 2 or 3 degrees in the next 100 years and mankind will be doomed. There is one certainty — those scientists will not be here to gloat or admit that they were wrong, and apologize for bankrupting this country.
All of these climate change theories are denying that God is in charge of the world. He gave man the ability to make choices and our choices are not always the right ones. —Dexter Hamilton, Kalispell
