LETTER: Left-wing lunacy?

| February 23, 2016 8:00 PM

If you are caught stealing in Saudi Arabia, your right hand is cut off. But killing your wife is acceptable in the case of adultery. If you consider sharia law inappropriate, then stay out of the Middle East. It’s a harsh environment. Rules are made for survival, both for the individual as well as the tribe. But they work. It’s law and order.

Saudi Arabia, our ally, forbids all public worship of Christianity even though they import Filipinos for cheap, temporary labor, a people who are deeply religious. But more importantly Saudi Arabia, like the rest of the OPEC nations has not allowed one single refugee into its domain.

In contrast, allowing millions of Mideastern refugees into Europe and expecting social harmony is the dream of left-wing lunacy. There are fights in the streets, subways, and churches. The cultural clash is akin to inviting a lion to dinner. No matter what you put on his plate, you end up as his desert.

All Europe is in a violent uproar from the Cologne tragedy, but little is reported about it by our news media. Presently, migrants are now being rejected at the borders of all countries. Last week, even Turkey rejected 30,000 at its border. Predictably, the European Union led by Merkel is collapsing against this rebellion. It should have been expected. The European Union was a luxury created by our military presence, long after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1988. It allowed these nations to experiment with socialism without paying the price.

As more and more is revealed about shady government deals with Saudi Arabia from our ex-secretary of state, and her Clinton Foundation, the FBI and judiciary will be forced to prosecute. But Hillary will be exonerated by President Obama on condition she gets out of the race. Unfortunately, it will keep Hillary rich, and Bill out of jail. The real cost is the reputation and integrity of the FBI. It will surrender all authority to Obama and lose credibility in the eyes of America. —Mike Donohue, Kalispell
