Sarah Marie Hermes, 67

| February 24, 2016 6:00 AM

Sarah Marie Hermes, 67, the strongest woman we know, passed away peacefully on Feb. 21, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at Timber Creek Village in Columbia Falls.

She was born March 24, 1948, to Earl and Doreen Garlow in Cloud County, Kansas.

She is survived by her five sons, Michael, Dominic, Benedict, Joseph and John; three daughters, Angela Hermes, Christina Washburn, and Rebecca Keys; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven sisters.

Sarah’s family was truly much larger, since anyone who met her, more than once, considered her family. She is and always will be loved.

Sarah had very simple wishes for her final arrangements and her children are dutifully committed to fulfilling them as a labor of love. They are building her casket, transporting her to her final resting place and completely handling interment as a family. Burial will take place at the natural cemetery in Swan Lake.

Sarah’s family would like to invite friends and “family” to join them at the Stillwater Bar on U.S. 93 north of Whitefish from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, to celebrate the life of this wonderful lady.

Columbia Mortuary is caring for Sarah’s family.
