Canyon Fishing derby changed to fun day at VFW

The Canyon Kids Christmas Fund Fishing Derby, scheduled Saturday at Lion Lake, has been canceled.

Participants are instead asked to meet at the Hungry Horse VFW Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Event organizers will have hot dogs, chili, coffee and hot chocolate, along with games and prizes for children. A raffle will be held for an 8-foot Creek Pontoon Boat.

All youths’ names will be put into a drawing for a bicycle — one each for a boy and girl — but they must be present to win.

Don’t forget the auction at the Dew Drop Inn at about 5:30 p.m.
