Drone hunting season is not open

Kalispell Police found that a man was on the top of a building near the intersection of Third Street East and First Avenue East with a shotgun. The man informed police that he was investigating what a drone in the area was up to. An officer counseled the man on city ordinances applicable to the situation.

An officer found that an archery sight stolen from a store off Hutton Ranch Road had been pawned at a store later in the day. The officer gathered video from the establishments.

A man and woman were counseled at a residence on Fifth Street East after the woman called dispatchers crying because the man had kicked her out of the house for drinking. The man allegedly prevented the woman from driving to work. The woman was told to sleep it off.

A Flathead County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a man, had his truck towed, and took his dog to his mother’s house after another man called to report that the suspect was threatening to use a slingshot against him and chasing him away from a fishing spot. The suspect allegedly was seen dancing on a stump after he chased the man from the fishing hole.

A deputy determined that a man’s initial call from East Cottonwood Drive about being assaulted was unfounded. The man did get into an argument with his girlfriend’s female roommate about child-care issues, but no assault occurred. The man was told to leave the residence and not return. The girlfriend and her roommate eventually will have to follow: The pair are being evicted.

A woman on Rhodes Draw told a deputy that suspected scammers had not gotten any of her money, but had made her very afraid after they asked for her address and told her they were coming to arrest her for a bogus IRS bill. The deputy reassured the woman that the caller was likely a scammer and gave her a number to report the attempted theft to.

A man called to report that there were signs being posted all over the valley saying things that were not true about him. The man had a suspect in mind. The man’s questions were answered.

A man called from Lakeside to report that a woman had been sleeping with everyone for the past decade and giving them herpes. The man hung up when the dispatcher put him on hold.

A deputy was unable to locate a deer that reportedly had a bucket on its head in the vicinity of Fourth Street West North in Columbia Falls.

Whitefish Police reminded a man to properly restrain his toddler son after he was seen at a drive-through without having the boy buckled in.

Columbia Falls Police counseled a man and woman who had previously been in a relationship and were sending each other nasty text messages. The pair were told to stop contacting each other or they might be charged by police.
