This year’s “cream of the crop” choir students have been selected to perform in the Northwestern Division of the American Choral Directors Association honors choirs.

These accomplished singers representing Flathead, Glacier, Libby, Polson and Whitefish high schools will attend the 2016 divisional conference March 3-6 in Seattle, where they will work with guest clinicians, professors and conductors.

“The students who are fortunate enough to be selected will come back my choir class stronger musically,” Whitefish choir director Darcy Schulz said.

Libby choir director Lorraine Braun said the leadership skills and motivation gained at the conference are added benefits.

The conference will feature elementary through college choirs.

To be selected for the conference, thousands of students from six Northwest states submitted auditions.

“It is such an honor to be one of the singers selected,” Schulz said.
