The Glacier High School Speech and Debate team dominated the Gonzaga Conway Classic this past weekend in Spokane.

Glacier scored 345 points to earn first place, outdistancing second-place Lake City, Idaho, which had 186.

The two-day tournament featured 30 teams from 10 states.

Glacier ended up with eight champions, eight second-place winners and seven third places.

“Just a great weekend from our team,” Glacier head coach Greg Adkins said. “I love this tournament because it helps our kids realize how they stack up against other teams from the Northwest. We really wanted to have a better showing this year than last year and I am proud of the team. We had depth and balance, which is how you can win big tournaments like this.”

Glacier will compete this weekend at the Garden City Invitational in Missoula, the last invitational tournament before the Class AA State Tournament in Billings at the end of the month.
