LETTER: Sight of U.S. sailors on knees is sickening

| January 20, 2016 9:04 AM

The sight of U.S. sailors on their knees with their hands clasped behind their heads giving the appearance of being prisoners of war while on the deck of their U.S. patrol boats was sickening, to put it mildly.

My dear old dad did 34 years on active duty with the Navy, having served in both World Wars to include service on the Yorktown at Coral Sea in 1942. He must be spinning in his grave at this humiliation and the added humbling to this nation as our secretary of state shamefully gives thanks to the criminal government of Iran and their thugs for this alleged rescue.

While Secretary Kerry was groveling before the Iranian tyrants I wonder if he thought to inquire about the other U.S. prisoners they are criminally holding. As a retired Marine, I never dreamed that this once proud nation would evolve into a nation with so many wimps and fools running the show, all within my life time. —Douglas Ferree, Kalispell
